The Art of Your Project

Our Portfolio of work has carried us over 40 years of learning, understanding, deciphering regulations, laws, standards, principles and education in access, materials, learning and practising their use in many different ways.

Our work has ranged in the early days from presentation drawings to working drawings, then submitted drawings for Council to provide the correct building permits for the builders.

Those drawings are then executed into the construction process, either for complete house builds or alterations that clients have engaged in our services to create for them their house dreams or lifetime or for generations to come.

We have designed residential, commercial buildings, shop fit-outs, shop fronts and several churches both in New Zealand, Australia and France.

Across all designs, we have worked using the Passive Solar design principles which Rex first learned at the early age of 18, these principles have stood the test of time and been proven beyond doubt principles that work excellently.

When working on a new project, we can be faced with the advantages of having a clean slate or the challenges of concepts/plans that do not allow ease of access around a new site, sometimes other plans that have been approved by the local Council, this makes the architecture challenge exciting.

We had a particular development that was for 26 units that needed re-examination after it was discovered the second row of units did not allow ease of access and vehicles could not access garages for turning circles. I have seen this happen many times even with Council allowing the previous designs to go through and received approved planning. These are the challenges that are often faced by the architect.
